He[art]truth — When Exposing Evil Becomes Echoing Evil
True And False Wisdom

This morning, I was sitting with a beautiful, illuminated heart, feeling open, peaceful, and connected to God. Then I came across an Instagram post showing images of the darkness of the world. Something changed inside me. My heart felt heavy, almost like a stone, as if the images had affected my inner peace.
I reflected on the artist’s intention, which I understood to be good: exposing evil and helping people recognise the truth of our reality. Art can reveal injustice and suffering, but it also raises an important question.
Can we fight evil by repeatedly reproducing its images?
Can exposing darkness unintentionally give it more space in the world? An image can awaken awareness, but it can also spread fear and despair. There is a difference between revealing darkness to lead people towards the light and allowing darkness to dominate their imagination.
I asked God to help me understand why I felt this way. First, I picked a Bible quote card at random:
John 10:30
“I and the Father are one.”
Then I closed my eyes, opened the Bible, and pointed to number 17. I landed on Sirach 37:16–26, about true and false wisdom.
Verse 16 says:
“The beginning of every work is a word, and before every action, thought.”
Verse 17 says:
“As a sign of a change of heart, four parts appear.”
The following verse reads:
“Good and evil, life and death, and the tongue has full power over them all.”
These words made me reflect on the relationship between thought, intention, and consequence. Before an artwork exists, there is an idea. An artist may intend to expose evil, yet the creation may also reproduce the very darkness they wish to oppose.
Good intentions do not automatically guarantee good fruits.
Art can reveal what is broken, but it can also inspire healing. It can expose injustice while awakening compassion, courage, and change. Discomfort alone is not transformation.
I cannot know the spiritual origin of my heaviness, nor conclude that something evil literally entered me through the images. But I can acknowledge how deeply they affected me and choose to protect my heart without becoming indifferent to the suffering of the world.
This is what the He[art] Movement means to me. I want my art to be part of the answer, not another repetition of the problem. I want to create from a heart open to God, truth, and love.
We can expose darkness, but we must also give love a voice, peace an image, and hope a form.
Perhaps the greatest act of resistance against darkness is not to reproduce it endlessly, but to create something it cannot offer.
Love. Life. Peace. Truth.
And a heart that remains open.
When we create art to expose evil, are we transforming it, or unknowingly becoming another echo of it?
