The Grim Reaper

Painted on Thekla, sailing the tide,
the Grim Reaper waited on Bristol’s side.
Around 2003, he appeared in the night,
a ghost on the hull, haunting in sight.

Now at M Shed, preserved from the sea,
still holding his stare, still watching me.
From death to art, from shadow to light,
Bristol keeps Banksy’s Reaper in sight.
