When Angels Whisper Your Name

At breakfast, I knew right away, The angels whispered your name that day. I felt something I couldn’t explain, A whisper carried through my brain.
But it took a year to understand, To see the signs, to know firsthand. That moment stayed somewhere inside, A little truth I couldn’t hide.
At the cemetery, I walked past you there, Taking photographs, unaware. The angels whispered your name to me, But I ignored them and walked on, carefree.
And when I turned to look around, You were already gone, nowhere to be found. The whisper lingered in the air, But you were no longer there.
And this morning, by my hotel window, I watched the world move soft and slow. From the third floor, I looked below, And saw you walking past, not knowing so.
The angels whispered your name once more, As you passed beneath my window’s floor. But only now, as I look back, I see the signs along the track.
Three moments, scattered through my days, Three whispered names in different ways. And every time, the truth came clear Only when the moment disappeared.
Perhaps the angels always know When you are near, when you will go. And though I sometimes miss the sign, Their whispered words return in time.
At breakfast, by the graves, below my room, Your name was carried through the gloom. And now I know what I couldn’t see: The angels whispered you to me.
